This website is intended to help you learn about heating with wood and its many advantages over other fuels, especially fossil fuels. In the PRODUCTS and SUPPORT sections you will find more information about Greenwood wood boilers and how you can save hundreds or even thousands of dollars each year in home heating expense.
The RESOURCES section includes a glossary of terms, information about hydronic heating systems, links to related websites, and other information you might find useful. You will also find information about other wood boilers and furnaces. We believe the more you know about them, the more likely you are to buy a furnace from Greenwood.
You can purchase a Greenwood wood boiler from one of our dealers in the U.S. and Canada, or directly from Greenwood Technologies. For a dealer near you, or to learn about reseller opportunities, contact us toll free (800-959-9184) or find your local Greenwood Dealer here.
* "Hydronic wood furnace" is the term newly adopted by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) to more accurately describe what has been called a "wood boiler." Use of the term "boiler" suggests these devices operate under pressure and produce steam for heating. In fact, most wood boilers operate under zero pressure and produce only hot water. They are sometimes referred to as an outdoor wood furnace, outside wood boiler, outdoor wood boiler, outdoor furnace, outdoor wood stove or wood heater.
** CO2 is a major contributor to global warming. Wood releases CO2 as it burns, but it is the same gas that would be released if the wood remained in the forest and decayed naturally. So burning wood does not increase the amount of CO2 in the environment. Fossil fuels, on the other hand, release CO2 that otherwise would remain buried deep in the earth.
*** We encourage you to review the Greenwood Library for additional interesting information related to Greenwood furnaces.
